Elder Qualifications

I Timothy 3:2-7

"2Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. 5(If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?) 6He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. 7He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil's trap."

Titus 1:6-9

"6An elder must be blameless, the husband of but one wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. 7Since an overseer is entrusted with God's work, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. 8Rather he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. 9He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it."

Deacon Qualifications

I Timothy 3:8-12

"8Deacons, likewise, are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. 9They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. 10They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.

11In the same way, their wives are to be women worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.

12A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well."

Pastor Curt

Sean was born in Wheatland, Wyoming but grew up in Arizona. He moved to Virginia in High School and went on to receive a bachelors degree in Youth and Family Ministries at Kentucky Christian College where he met his amazing wife Amy.

Amy was born in Zanesville, Ohio. She is the second oldest of five siblings who grew up on a dairy farm together. She went to John Glenn High School and received a bachelor's degree in Humanitites at Kentucky Christian college where she met Sean

After Sean and Amy were married and had finished college they went to Greenwood, Indiana for a Youth Ministry Intership at the Greenwood Christian Church. Shortly after the internship Amy and Sean found themselves back in Zanesville to fulfill a full-time Youth Ministry. Most recently Sean maintained an interim Worship Ministry position at the North Terrace Church of Christ located in Zanesville. As much as he enjoys worship Sean's passion lies in being involved with the youth. God has now given them the opportunity to serve with Capri Christian.

Steve was born in Williamson, WVa but lived most of his life in Portsmouth, OH. For his Biblical education he attended Kentucky Christian College from 1994 - 1999 where he studied music education & ministry. Steve just left his home church where he served as Youth & Music ministry for almost 10 years. He began his ministry with us in September 2006 serving as Music Minister. Currently Steve is developing vocal teams, a choir, men's chorus, audio/video technical teams, instrumental teams, & getting as many people as possible to serve the Lord in the Music Ministry.
